WALL-E (USA; 2008; Animation, Adventure/Sci-Fi; 1 hr 38 mins; Rated G; in English.)

Directed by Andrew Stanton; Music by Thomas Newman; Cinematography by Danielle Feinberg, Jeremy Lasky and Martin Rosenberg; Edited by Stephen Schaffer; Production Design by Ralph Eggleston; Story by Andrew Stanton and Pete Doctor; Screenplay by Andrew Stanton and Jim Reardon.

In the distant future, WALL-E, a small, rusty waste-collecting robot, dutifully carries out his daily routine of collecting and compacting garbage. He’s been doing it for hundreds of years now, and he's been doing it alone. Human beings have long since fled the polluted Earth, and all his fellow machines have shut down or worn out.

But WALL-E’s routine is dramatically interrupted when an immense star cruiser arrives and discharges EVE, a sleek and graceful research probe, whose mission is to locate any trace of living vegetation on the now-barren Earth. Despite her proclivity for blowing up anything that moves, WALL-E is immediately smitten with her. Determined to win EVE’s affection, WALL-E risks everything to follow her on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of humankind.

WALL-E won 92 awards, including the Oscar for Best Animated Feature at the 2009 USA Academy Awards, as well as Best Animated Feature at the 2009 Golden Globe Awards, 2009 BAFTA Awards, 2009 Annie Awards, 2008 Austin Film Critics Awards, 2008 Chicago Film Critics Awards, 2008 Hollywood Film Awards, 2009 London Critics Circle Awards, and the 2008 New York Film Critics Awards. WALL-E also received 94 nominations, including Oscar nominations for Best Writing, Best Original Score, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing at the 2009 USA Academy Awards.

With Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin, Fred Willard, John Ratzenberger, Kathy Najimy and Sigourney Weaver.
