USY (United Synagogue Youth) builds Jewish leaders through planning religious, Israel, social action, and tikkun olam programming in a Jewish social setting. It also provides the foundation for life-long friendships. Our weekly Wednesday night lounge nights and weekend programming bring teens together to enjoy fun social, educational, and experiential programming with friends. Our teen driven Leadership Boards are great places for your teen to contribute to our chapter and region in a way that is meaningful for them. Shomrei Torah Synagogue is part of the Far West Region. The Far West Region encompasses Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, southern Nevada and Hawaii.

USY BOARD
The purpose of the USY Chapter Board is to help plan fun and educational activities for USY. Board members help plan and promote monthly USY events, Shabbats and holidays. Leadership seminars are done at chapter board meetings and there is regional convention at the start of the year to help connect board members while emphasizing their vital roles in our kehillah (community) and the regional kehillah. Board meetings take place on the first Wednesday of the month. Our USY Board members gain hands-experience while honing many skills such as: Jewish leadership, communication, time management, organization, public speaking, facilitation, marketing, branding, event planning and much more!
