Sisterhood membership offers you many choices and connects you to a deeply committed group of women. These women are of all ages and backgrounds; many hold professional positions in the community, some are full time homemakers, while others are retired. What brings them all together is their love of Shomrei Torah Synagogue, Judaism, learning and their desire to support our synagogue.

Make this the year that you join Sisterhood and attend one of the many interesting Sisterhood sponsored lectures, activities, dinners or programs. Interested in doing a little more? How about helping us with program development, fundraising, participating in a Women's Shabbat Service or Women's Seder, volunteering in the Sisterhood Judaica Gift Shop, Social Action/Israeli Affairs? Whenever you have the time or the inclination to participate, we are holding a place for you!

We are urging every woman at Shomrei Torah Synagogue, join us!

Dear Sisters,
I recently returned from the Convention for Women's League of Conservative Judaism in Arlington, VA. WLCJ is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. More than 400 women from Sisterhoods all over the United States and Canada attended. Shomrei Torah Synagogue Sisterhood received the Jewels in the Crown award for our achievements in Programming and Social Action. I am so proud of all of you for the hard work you have done which earned us this prestigious award. We experienced 4 days of Workshops, Panel Discussions, Guest Speakers and Parties. A good time was had by all! Here is one of the more memorable quotes from the workshops. "If I can't do great things, I can do small things in a great way." Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In other news..It's time to place your ad in our New Year's Greeting Booklet. This is the perfect way to share your good wishes with our beautiful community. My sister and I will be giving MAH JONGG LESSONS this month. If you've always wanted to learn to play this intriguing game, now's your chance. Call or Email me today to reserve your place. I hope you have been enjoying the Summer. Many of you have travelled to places near and far and have gotten to do some fabulous things! We are thankful for your safe travels. We look forward to seeing you and your friends at our Sisterhood Programs and Events.

Kol tuv, Linda Wolf
